How to Give It
- Remove one chewable at a time from the foil-backed blister card and return the rest to the box to protect it from light.
- Offer the chew by hand, or mix it into a small amount of food — most dogs take it happily on its own.
- Let your dog chew rather than swallow it whole; break it into pieces first if your dog tends to gulp treats.
- Watch your dog for a few minutes afterward to make sure the full dose was eaten. If any is lost or spit out, redosing is recommended.
- Give one chewable every 30 days, year-round, on or about the same day each month for consistent protection.

Important Safety Information
All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting Heartgard Plus, which is not effective against adult heartworms. Digestive and neurologic side effects, along with itching, have been reported following use. Choking or intestinal obstruction has been reported in dogs that swallow the chew whole rather than chewing it — break it into pieces if your dog tends to gulp treats.
